Marilyn Tan has been designing jewellery for over 20 years. While she started off creating hand finished one of kind pieces under the label Marilyn Tan Jewellery, her passion for design soon prompted her to branch out with a diffusion line, MTJ. She creates every design with patience, precision and great attention to detail and her designs are inspired by everything from nature to fine art as well as her travels.

Working with various metals such as White, Yellow and Rose Gold, .925 Silver, Bronze, and Brass, and a variety of crystals, gems, and stones, allows her to create pieces with both sophistication and an edginess you won't find anywhere else. Marilyn's collections include unique pieces like pendants which double as brooches or bangles, inspiring cocktail rings, and hinged chokers. Her deep passion for stones is a recurring theme in many of her collections, with drusy being a current favorite.

Marilyn's dedication to her craft and ability to inspire the fashion industry's next generation of jewellery designers, led to her being offered a role as an external assessor at the Department of 3D design at Nanyang Academy of Art. She currently shows twice a year in Paris, and has participated in Blueprint - the fashion trade gateway for Asia's established and best emerging talents since its inception. Pieces from various collections can be found in several Flagship stores of top international designers in major cities such as New York, Miami, Toronto, and London, as well as places like the Museum of Contemporary Art Store in Chicago.
